Spartans 2020!!

Be a part of the start!!

After a rough couple of weeks the Spartans have trimmed down and tightened up as they headed into their last two games of the season. Here is a recap:

After week 4, Owner Nicole Pelham made a change at Head Coach appointing Rod W. as the new Head Coach and releasing Demus Boyd. Coach Winter resigned along with several members of the Spartans after this announcement. Determined the remaining Spartans went down with a gridiron group to Medford.

With a squad of 13 health players the Spartans showed major improvement over their first meeting with the Lady Gades but still fell 31-0.

Following the loss of 4 more members and 2 coaches Langi and Calhoun stepped away leaving a team of 14 active players to take on the Oregon Hawks at home last weekend, Pride Night!  But this group stayed for a reason and they showed it on Saturday battling back from a quick 13 point deficient to make it  14-13 at the half.

The Spartans leading for the first time all season on #2 Mike Fortson two scrabble play touchdowns! and 2 point conversion by the O-line and #21 Pelham. Under the helm of first time offensive coordinator  and former Quarter Back Michele Walsh the team offense marched down the field in the second half. After a turnover on downs at the 11 yard line the Spartans Defense made an explosive play in the end zone scoring 6 more points! A stop in the back field by #5 Britt Burns and #55 Jennifer Reynolds causing a force fumble recovered by #22 Sarah Cooper. The Spartans get their first ever win 20-13 Final. Next week 6/8 the Tacoma Trauma come up to battle it out for Washington Pride during Pride Month!

The Spartans fall to the D1 Portland Fighting Shockwave not once but twice falling to 0-4 , bright spots the are all around but they have yet lite the fire! With a change at the Head Coaching Position will the Spartans rally and end their first year on a high note? Next Home game 6/1 Pride Night!!

Seattle Spartans fall to the Tacoma Trauma 18-8, hard fought game! Come see the Spartans take on the Trauma at home on 6/8 Women in Sports Night! For Highlights

Seattle Spartans game one against the Lady Gades is in the books. Sadly the outcome of a 0-52 lose wasn’t the start the Spartans wanted but its not how you start its how you finish! The Spartans first half defense held the Gades to only 12 points but in the 2nd half the game got away from the Spartans and The Lady Gades came out like the Renegades they were named after seizing on the weakness and putting up the next 40 points in the 2nd half.
